Football fan given two-year ban...

"A Floriana man was given a suspended jail term and banned from entering any football ground for two years after he admitted to slightly injuring a high-ranking police officer during a Valletta-Floriana football match two years ago.
Magistrate Miriam Hayman heard Clayton Galea, 23, plead guilty to injuring Assistant Commissioner Josie Brincat and trying to seriously injure him at the National Stadium, in Ta' Qali, on April 23, 2005.
Mr Galea also pleaded guilty to inciting others to commit a crime, hurling seats, causing over Lm50 damage to the detriment of the Malta Football Association and relapsing.
Magistrate Hayman gave him a one-and-a-half year jail term suspended for four years and banned him from entering a football ground for two years.
Police Superintendent Mario Bonello prosecuted"
